Accessibility statement
findyourdentist.com — part of the Alliance of Independent Dentists. Conformance target: WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Last updated June 2026.
Our commitment
FindYourDentist, part of the Alliance of Independent Dentists, is committed to making it easy for everyone — including people with disabilities — to find an independent dentist. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we do
We build with semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable controls, color contrast that meets WCAG AA, descriptive labels and alternative text, visible focus styles, a skip-to-content link, and respect for reduced-motion preferences in animations.
We test with automated tools (axe-core) together with manual review, and accessibility is checked as the site evolves rather than treated as a one-time task. This site was last audited against WCAG 2.1 AA in June 2026.
Known limitations
Some content — such as practice photos and the interactive map — comes from third-party data and tools. We provide text alternatives (names, addresses, and a list view alongside the map) so the directory is usable without relying on the map itself.
Videos on the site include synchronized English captions.
